Meet the Lady Behind the Lens
About MeWelcome to April Cunningham Photography! Let me tell you a little bit about me and what drives and inspires me in life and in my photography business.
I started my business in 2014 as a self-taught photographer. In 2017, I made the move to specialize in maternity, newborn, and family photography. I have the best clients in the world and I pride myself on giving each client individual attention and, I hope, a truly unique experience. My style is clean, timeless, and focused on creating connections. I love shooting on-location outdoors and also in my studio. Using light to set the mood and tone for a session is one of my passions. I have some great locations that have beautiful light, adding to the magic of your session. I work to make each session feel special and unique so no two sessions are alike. My style isn't so much "smile for the camera." Don't worry, we'll still get some photos with everyone looking at the camera but the true connections happen when you're relaxed and living life in front of my lens. I'll walk you through some guided posing but the interactions will be all you and completely genuine. My ultimate goal as a photographer is to leave you with a distinct set of images telling your personal story through posed and candid connections. I'm a cheer mom, a wife, a storyteller, and a student-life professional at a local college. I'm funny, genuine, a bit goofy, and sometimes a bit of a firecracker. I am a lover of animals and all things country. My favorite season is fall and I love to travel. My husband Josh and I have been married since 2005. We have two amazing kids, Benjamin and Brenna who have blessed our lives. These are the people who fill me up and they truly are my why. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to do what I love.
